United Kingdom

Heads up for UK-bound travelers in 2025: As of, January 8, 2025, all travelers to the UK must complete an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)—think of it as a quick, electronic visa.

Key Details:

  • Official Site: Apply for an ETA here (avoid third-party sites that charge extra!):
  • Cost: £10 GBP ($12 USD).
  • Validity: 2 years or until the attached passport expires.
  • Pro Tip: Travelers must apply before boarding flights, though approval isn't strictly required pre-flight—airlines may enforce this, so better safe than sorry. Insider Hack: If using the mobile app, US travelers should scan the inside of the back cover of their passport (not the front) to read the NFC chip. Hold your phone steady on the last page, and you're set!
  • Fast & Easy:  You can complete the process in minutes. Approval often comes back quickly—ours took under 5 minutes!

Caribbean All Inclusive

Packing Tips for Your Caribbean All-Inclusive Vacation:

1. Swimwear Essentials

Pack multiple swimsuits: You’ll be spending a lot of time in the water, whether it’s the pool or the beach. Having a few swimsuits will ensure you always have a dry one ready for the next dip.

2. Water Shoes

Protect your feet: If you plan on exploring the coastline, doing water sports, or participating in excursions like snorkeling, water shoes can protect your feet from rocky or coral-covered areas and provide comfort.

3. Lightweight Luggage

Easy to carry: Since you’re likely to do some walking or excursions, pack light! Choose soft-sided luggage or a durable duffle bag that’s easy to move around. Consider packing foldable bags for any souvenirs you might pick up during your stay.

4. Power Adapters and Chargers

Stay connected: The Caribbean generally uses 110V, but it’s always best to check in advance for specific power outlet requirements. Bring universal adapters and extra phone or camera chargers to ensure you’re ready to document your adventure.

5. Beach Bag

Beach essentials: A spacious beach bag is a must to carry sunscreen, a towel, your book, sunglasses, water bottle, and any other essentials for a day in the sun. Many resorts provide towels, but it’s nice to have your own for the beach or excursions.

6. Insect Repellent

Stay bite-free: Tropical climates often come with insects, especially in the evenings. Be sure to pack a good-quality insect repellent to keep mosquitoes and other bugs at bay.

7. Reusable Water Bottle

Stay hydrated: It’s easy to forget to drink enough water in the hot sun, but staying hydrated is crucial. A reusable water bottle is eco-friendly and convenient, and many resorts provide refill stations to keep you hydrated throughout the day

8. Waterproof Bags

Protect your valuables: If you’re heading out on a boat trip or planning to enjoy the beach, waterproof pouches for your phone, camera, or wallet are a smart addition. Keeping your items dry will ensure they’re safe during your water adventures.

9. Evening Wear

Dress up for dinner: Many all-inclusive resorts offer gourmet dining options in the evenings, so packing at least one or two nice outfits for dinner is a good idea. While dress codes vary, a collared shirt and dress shoes for men or a nice dress for women can be perfect for the resort's fancier restaurants.

10. Medication and Health Supplies

Be prepared: If you take regular medications, be sure to pack enough for the duration of your stay. It’s also a good idea to bring along a small first-aid kit with basic items like band-aids, pain relievers, and any over-the-counter remedies you might need.

11. Tipping

Though tipping is not included it is highly recommended. I suggest you go to the bank and get plenty of singles. Who you tip and how you tip is up to you.

Before You Travel to EUROPE

Here are some of our “Must Have’s” when traveling to Europe

Credit card: Be sure to call your credit card company to make sure your credit card is able to be used in Europe

Currency: I’d suggest going to your back a few weeks prior and orders some local currency for tipping. You will be able to use your cc almost everywhere but it’s nice to have some cash on you too! If you run out of cash ONLY go to a local bank in destination to minimize transaction fees.

Cell phone: if you plan on using your cell phone while in Europe call your cell phone provider before you go and have an international plan added!
